In 2022, after the birth of her last child at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Grayce recognised a need to improve the hospital’s equipment to better support patient care, recovery, and resources for birthing women. Over a coffee with Kirsty, an idea was born, to fundraise for three portable co-sleeping cots. Incredibly, within just four days, the pair raised $52,000 entirely through social media.

What started as a small goal quickly grew into something much bigger. The funds not only covered 15 portable co-sleeping cots for all birthing women on the ward, but also allowed for the purchase of two hospital-grade breast pumps, new antenatal examination plinths, recliner chairs, and special care cots, all of which continue to make a lasting impact on the comfort and care of mothers and babies in the region.
